MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His global success has seen his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. In 2017 the hit song from 2016 Una Lady Como Tu won the Colombian Kids Choice Award Favorite Song. In 2017, he dropped ADN, his first long-player with La Industria Inc. in Medellin. The album reached the top of the charts at number 8 in the Top Latin Albums charts. Following that year, he joined forces with Ozuna for the creation of Vaina Loca which reached number five on the chart of Top Latin Albums. He was a part of the team alongside Noriel in the song Mala Influencia in the year 2020. He in the year following, he dropped his sophomore album chart-topping Dopamina. Later in 2021 he performed an duet with TINI's streaming smash track Maldita Foto. He appeared in 2023 with 2000, which included the hit single La Bachata. Turizo has an instrumental background. Both his elder brother and mother are also musicians. In his interviews, he's described participating in music as compulsory. When he was a kid he played the ukulele guitar as well as piano. In spite of initially wanting to become a veterinarian, Julian convinced him that learning with a Cuban singer would alter the direction of his profession.
